^ Good one.
I was basing my German answer on the fact that there were many German mercenaries employed by the British, and I'd expect at least some of them to rebel eventually as the war got worse.

Maybe 6? I believe Texas was it's own nation for a short time.

C'mon TWWK, what's the right answer?
|
|
|
Post by TWWK on Aug 13, 2007 9:24:13 GMT -5
The correct answer would be seven:
Spain, France, Mexico, The Republic of Texas (good catch), the Confederacy (another good catch) and the U.S. are the typical six mentioned (so deutschgarten, you're the closest to correct). If you've heard of the Six Flags over Texas (phrase or the series of theme parks), that's where it comes from.
The seventh, lesser known is the Republic of the Rio Grande, a little known rebellion in Southern Texas.

Alright, I'll try to go less obscure...
Which U.S. president served the shortest amount of time in that position?

Oh man I know this one too! It's on the tip of my tongue! Anyway I think it's the president who caught like a cold or the flu on his anogoration and died about a week later...

You've pretty much got the story...but what's his name? By the way, I just love that story...it was biting cold outside, yet he gave a TWO HOUR inauguration speech without wearing an overcoat. He caught pneumonia and died a month later. But what's his name?? Hint: His grandson, who had the same last name, also became President of the United States.

Garfield... maybe?

Garfield died in office...but that was from a bullet, not from pneumonia. Tyler is a good guess, too. It's like "Obscure U.S. Presidents Day" on this thread.

OMG! I know it now. It must've been Henry Harrison. If it's not, then I'm all out of obscure presidents, lol.
