I believed affirmative action was repealed in my state. It nice that since it was repealed Colleges don't have to get quotas of different races.

It basically gives minorities the advantage when aplying for schools and or scholarships.
It's racist to give or deny someone special treatment based on their race!

I have mixed opinions on this. At first I was attempted to go with the majority and say 'you can't have equality...', which is a perfectly reasonable answer. But, when you consider that ethnic minorities have had a raw deal for the past 400 years, I think it should exist to an extent.
It should be in place for, say, another 18 years, and then end. That should allow the current workforce and the next generation of the workforce to rise to whatever level they are able to rise to without hinderence. Then AA (or positive descrimination, as it is called in the UK) should be stopped, since it will have nothing to achieve anymore.
What is a load of bull is all this slave 'compensation' that some black families are trying to get. Black people now have rights in most/all of the slave trade countries, and are a lot better off here then they would be back in Africa. Besides, the working class have been exploited by the ruling class in Britain, but do I ask for compensation from the old mill-owning families, or the current lord of a particular patch of Yorkshire that my ancestors ploughed for their ancestors? Nope.

What about German Americans? They were harassed during both world wars, or for that matter Japanese Americans.
