My friend is bad because he's got thin fingers and can't press down on the strings hard enough, so it makes a horrible buzzing sound. He's better when it comes to finger plucking.

Pfft, just go onto Ultimate Guitar and learn the riff to your favourite songs. I agree chords can be difficult, though. I'm no master myself.
But for heaven's sake don't play bass. You'll be f'd in the a by all the other musicians.

Unfortunately, family and career has me incredibly busy nowadays. You'll be seeing me irregularly on the board for a while (and maybe for good).
Anyway, that said, its probably best that someone else take control of setting up colony scenarios.

lol, you apparently don't know that the female to male ratio in the orchestra I'm in is 4 to 1. It's about 3 to 1 if you only count the good-looking girls.

Yeah, but the girls think all the guys are gay -don't you see? That mean you have work double-hard to show them you're interested, while avoiding the pitfall of being too macho and ending up in the kinds of hilarious overtly-heterosexual scrapes and adventures seen in popular high-rated sitcoms.
In which case it's probably a good thing you have a cello, because if you have recorder/penny whistle they could take that as a Freudian desire to have a long thin thing sticking in your mouth, thus crippling your macho image.
