What do you think about it?

Personally, as a Socialist, I consider the the Credit Crisis the doom of American Capitalism. Note I say American. Borrowing too much cash (like people did in the US) is never good. In Europe people rarely do that (at least in Holland) and banks there are only affected by the Crisis because of the US.

I believe the Bush administration's policy also deserves a fair amount of blame

Well in Scotland Mortages are well always there, as everywhere i would think. But Loans are very rare, at least from my experience.
