I've read the chapter again because it's so funny, and I've been able to draw some 'interesting' comparisons:

Characters:
Kardas- is impulsive, known for saying the brutally obvious, takes a while for him to notice things and inactive unless there something in it for him. Also says "ah" and "indeed" a lot.
Debro- Laid back, and has good manipulative skills.
Primus- King of lols.

What intrigues me the most though is the use of the words "Confederacy" and "Alliance". For some reason I'm thinking CIW and NA. I bet I'll be wrong though.
