Due to Christmas-stress and a heavy workload from December to the present day, I've had to put off writing the story I promised just before Christmas. Since it wasn't going to be a Christmas story this isn't too much of a big deal, but I am anxious to begin writing it again, considering the fun I had with the last one, and the positive response it garnered.
After tomorrow (the 13th March) however, all of this term's work shall have ended, and I'll have the time and peace of mind (in other words, five weeks of Easter holiday and enough money for a tubload of whiskey) necessary to complete another tale.
Don't think this has been forgotten in any way on my part -I've had a story in the back of my mind since November- but interestingly enough over time my ideas have expanded somewhat (you'll see how). I'm looking forward to writing fiction for a change, and a horror-spoof, which I've never attempted before.
Stay tuned.

Okay, so I've finished all the preliminary work and the first chapter. I know that sounds a bit scant for 3 weeks of work, and I suppose it is, but this chapter is 6-pages long in Word. And there'll be many more like it, so hold tight. I was wondering whether to post it or not, but eventually decided against it due to the complexity of the thing I'm trying to write. It's going to be a long story, and I want to get it all down before I serialize it, just to make sure everything in the story is watertight. About the story: I'm not going to give away too much too soon, but I'm certain it will resonate quite deeply with everyone, although all the characters are fictional and not based on anyone here at all. I'm hoping it will make some of you think, but I'm not guaranteeing that yet. Many of you have never thought in your lives. It's not going to be in the same vein as Penguin Ninjas! and SPACE MICE, I can assure you of that right up front. I'm hoping it will be funny (the idea is to poke fun at the horror genre) but it's supposed to keep you thinking all the time, too. That's opposed to Penguin Ninjas! which was created by various people seemingly all at once, and SPACE MICE which was based heavily on in-jokes on IN and the police force. But hopefully there'll still be some farce. ;D Stay tuned, kids.

lol Automaticz this story has several contrasts with Penguin Ninjas. We can all agree on its near-mythical status however. Archaix: best of luck, can't wait to read it

I had a quick burst of it last night, and managed to nearly complete the second chapter (to be finished tonight), and would have continued in the same vein today if it weren't for several uninvited people showing up at a certain person's certain house and drinking all of that certain person's beer.
I hate my friends.
...
And thank you for all two positive responses! ;D I'm really looking forward to writing it, although I have absolutely no idea when it'll be finished. I have the rest of this week and the week after of Easter time off, so if I haven't finished it by then I ought to have a pretty good thing going in any case.
I'm also in the process of creating a map for it. The shortcomings of this is that I'm a terrible illustrator, but I'll do my best.

In the same way you're an excellent 'engineer', my good man. Production was coming along strong, but I had to survey a church yesterday and I'm exhausted.
