Here's an overview to help you make up your mind (let me know if you change your mind):
Christmas Story.
Not as gay as it sounds. I take a little bit from all genres and present it in a light-hearted way against a Christmas-themed plot, and tie in as many references to the forum as I can.
Horror/Sci-fi Spoof.
This would be ridiculously easy to do since horror movies are almost made to have the piss taken out of them, and I've seen enough Sci-fi films to be able to parody them. Also it'd shake things up a bit, since I've never written one before.
Action/Adventure.
This is the one I'm most against because it'd be eerily similar to the Gears of War approach of recent stories on the forum, but I'm up for it if that's what people want. There's enough to take the piss out of, anyway.
Serious.
I can write an extended short story on serious subjects as well, but I don't want to go against the whole Christmas-atmosphere.

Oh, it's gonna be about Christmas? I dunno, I geuss I'd like a good Sci-fi/Horror story any day, but it depends on what kind of sci-fi horror would be in it. Ghosts? Aliens? Magic? A combo of the three? Specify, plz. But other than that, it's good to see that you've got the inspiration to write another story.

When I think of 'horror' I think of axe-wielding psychos, mutated hicks with chainsaws, vampirical zombies lurching at young women, etc. When I think of 'sci-fi' I'm getting laser guns, space-stations, aliens, etc. So it's going to be a pleasant mold of all that, with comedy, violence and so on.

Have you guys ever seen "A Christmas Story" ? It would be awesome if you did a parody of that. You'd be all excited about getting some random RedRider BB-gun and then shoot yourself in the eye. Then your dad would get a lamp shaped like a man's foot instead of a woman's leg. It'd be sweet.

Are you kidding me? My family forces me to watch it every year, and then some. I probably know most of it just from the constant quotes my parents say...
