Technically if you drop lots of food on poor countries you destroy the local agricultural economy. What developed countries try to do now is to donate money in order to boost the local economy to the extent whereby they can feed themselves. It's sort of like, give a man a fish, teach a man to fish.

Yeah. For those of us who can't relate, because we live in 1st world nations, think of the "food dumping" as Wal-Mart, and how it destroys our economy and enslaves our people to capitalism with extremely low prices... stuff on sale every day! A watch for $3.99! A TV for 3 easy payments of $19.95!
But seriously, rather than food dumping, (with the notion that we have a altruistic responsibility as a society) we should help their economy get off its feet instead. Where they have food, they don't have enough money to afford it. If we jump in like walmart and start outsourcing the local market, we only degrade their already-weak economy.
