I live in Britain where we're slowly loseing our free at point of delivery healthcare (well not so much where I live (I love being Welsh) but its still happening).
A politician once said that it would cost 600 million pounds to fix the NHS and that they couldn't find the money. Someone then pointed out that he was worth 60 million pounds so all we had to do was find him and 9 of his friends and we've found the money. I personally like that solution

Every study that I have ever read shows that private health insurance (especially when provided by for-profit corporations) is an extremely expensive and inefficient way to provide healthcare. Much money and effort could be saved in a single-payer system. Most people believe that healthcare should be a right. I agree.
Whether "rich" countries should subsidize "poor" countries, I think the answer is an emphatic yes. When done correctly, healthcare does not have to be horrendously expensive. Investments in preventive health can pay large dividends and help the global economy. Not to mention that I think there are moral obligations....

the nhs is a mess, both my parents are mental nurses, and by that i mean nurses for mental ilnesses. Now nurses have to PAY to park at the hospital, and there are no buss routes near the hospital. It is under review but they have started it anyway! Its not cheap either, you can get a special pass or buy a ticket each time you park. The pass is free (i think) but its only for special cases (no idea what) and people that buy tickets cant park at the special pass place, my mum has pictures of it empty but still no, and they places are closer to the hospital. I think you still have to pay for the passes i don't know, its confusing but basically nurses now have to PAY to park at their worked, and if you don't then your fined. Think there will be a strike, there is talk about it.
