IN's First Official Newspaper
The region's Foreign Minister, Debro, started a new newspaper, the Monthly Leftist on the 13th of July to deal with the region's need for news. He hopes that this newspaper will help to attract new members to the forum by giving a general overview on actual events. The layout of the newspaper is based on the Gazetta CSA, and will be issued monthly. Being a leftist newspaper, the Monthly Leftist will publish articles in the future to improve the knowledge of the citizens in the fields of politics. A shortened version of the newspaper will be published on the regional message board.
Breaking News
The population of International Nations steadily decreased in the last few weeks. The first wave of death nations were dealt with quick response from government officials, and in May, the population was stabilized around 35. Now, however, the situation is more distressing, labeled as "rock bottom" by Head Senator Deutschgarten and Foreign Minister Debro. The region has only 28 nations, and it appears to be decreasing. The answers to the crisis vary from person to person; former delegate Neo Nibu pushed again for a refounding, while Debro stands for the region and urges much more participation in the recruiting efforts. Elections
After the last amendment of the constitution passed, the region's legislation is more democratic. On the 21st of July - along with other positions - the UN-Delegate post will be elected. The interim election of this position was canceled due to the inactivity of the region.[2]
Foreign Events
Talks get underway with four regions about alliances. The NationStates Communist Party and the Alliance of Socialist States gave positive feedback, while the region "Socialist Atlantis" is going to merge with another region, the Deep South. Foreign Minister Debro is currently considering to start talks with this region, since the Deep South is democratic, and developed. The International Communist Union has not, however, replied.
-Led Zeppelin-, a high-profile member of the CSA, has registered on the IN forums, further strengthening the friendship between the two regions. He is the third CSA member to join IN, after Free Grenada (under the pseudonym 'fpgr') and Archaix.
Culture
The region's official pulp fiction, the "Penguin Ninjas" was finished by Archaix. The authors were Archaix, Kardas, Automaticz, and Debro. Archaix and Debro are planning to release another story, but the subject is still uncertain. Archaix maintains that an element of surprise should be maintained for the next launch.[3]
New thread "History Quiz" has recently gained popularity on the forums, and everyone can test their knowledge there. All citizens are encouraged to participate, and add to the growing list of players.[4]
COIN News
Trotsky the Llama, was elected as the official mascot of the party on the 15th July. Polls are also running to decide who will be the leader of the organization, and what title should he use. Currently, Debro and the title "spokesman" are the winners.
Free Grenada, known as 'FGPR' in International Nations, decided to leave the COIN and the region. His extensive help is very appreciated, and he will remain the honorary member of the COIN.
