The Teivostan/Fascist Leaders Incident:
The region of International Nations has entered and survived many tough times, but the most infamous of all was the Fascist Leaders incident that ensued in late August. A new nation called ‘Fascist Leaders’ arrived in the region, apparently sporting an Adolf Hitler on the national flag (an NS offense).
The following is from the International Nations Civil Headquarters at the time of the incident:

Fascist Leaders then fled the region for Corporate Conservative, a well known right-wing raider region, and was subsequently banned. This worried IN leaders, particularly Kardas, as fears grew that IN would become entangled with the CC. However, no reprisals followed and following a stint in the Rejected Realms, Fascist Leaders' next base of operations became El Campo de Liberacion.
In mid September however, they returned to the region and created another account on the forum, which was thereafter deleted. Despite Primus Orios' claims that it was his idea of a joke, it has largely been assumed that Fascist Leaders was behind the affair.
He then left but flooded IN with an army of puppets: Fascist Leaders, Fascist Leaders2, Fascist Leaders3, Fascist Leaders4 and Fascist Leaders5. Debro sent a message to the NationStates Moderaters, believing it to be illegal. Fascist Leaders left in the meantime, prompting Debro to say:
I like this guy. Every time i write something about him on the RMB he shit his pants and run away. I don't have to ban him, anything, he leaves voluntary.
However, Debro was proven wrong a few days later, by the Mods:

As one of the few humorous parts of this incident, Archaix said:
How long does he have to reply before you ban his arse?
Teivostan and all of his puppets left. However, their troubles weren’t over, as soon Teivostan and a new puppet, Teivostans Servant returned to harass International Nations. Also, a forum member called ‘capitalism’ appeared, to which Nibu said:
Ban this mother chucker!
His account was deleted, but soon a user called “Kronstadtia” appeared. Debro said this was Teivostan again and his IP was banned. Debro also ejected and banned Teivostan and all of his puppets present in International Nations. Teivostan was charged on four counts, including:
-creating unneccessary tensions.
-Having double account on the forum.
-Harassment.
-Endangering the regions security.
RPG Chief Kaleckton also accused Teivostan of three counts of RPG rules.
One of last incidents of harassment Teivostan had done though, was on the International Nations entry on NSWiki, adding his name to the List of Important Nations and adding: “How are you IN”. This was soon deleted by Kardas.
Before his treachery was uncovered, Teivostan also participated in the Liberation of Green Anarchy, and after helping to conquer the Anarcho-Communist Federation in the name of the Raider region Aero City (A fellow invader said on the ACF Civil Headquarters: “Mercenaries like Teivostan that bit the hand that fed them it seems”) is now allied with Aero City.
Elections:
Elections in International Nations were some of the most controversial yet, as the region was rocked by the Hacking Mystery, Kaleckton’s departure, multi-account scandals and the infamous case of Teivostan. 3 COIN members (Debro, Deutschgarten and Kardas) hold government positions.
The Head Delegate vote went the smoothest, with 10 people voting for Debro, and one abstaining. It is widely believed the fascistleaders was the abstainer, as evidenced below:

The Head of Defense election went without problems despite the shockingly one-sided vote, as 11 people voted for the candidate Kardas, yet only one voted for Kazzerland. It is believed that many didn’t vote for Kazzerland because of his multi-account charge, but the election issue was partially solved by an offer from Kardas to make Kazzerland the Deputy Head of Defense (this was not without reason though, as Kardas left for holiday soon after).
The Head Senator Vote went well but ultimately turned out to be pointless, as the only candidate, Kaleckton, left. 6 votes were for Kaleckton, while 6 Abstained. The odd situation was described by Primus Orios as:
Abstain will win!
Neo Nibu however, found that fascistleaders, whose account had recently been deleted, voted too. The Head Senator position is currently VACANT.
The Head of International Relations election was by far the most controversial, as 6 people voted for inactive member Anderthalia, and 6 for Primus Orios. Unlike in the Head Senator Vote, none abstained. Debro suggested the poll be redone due to the fascistleaders incident, but no replacement poll has appeared yet, probably because of Primus Orios’ activity. The Head of International Relations position is currently VACANT.
The New Military:
With Kardas being elected Head of Defense, the new government official carried out some sweeping reforms, taking on the newly added job of intelligence (holding a thread where he posts intelligence updates) and also bringing reform to the International Nations Military. The Military has been revitalized with a new rank system, a functioning intelligence agency and preparations for military activities have also begun. The Military is currently small, but energetic. Deutschgarten himself said:
we need a force of UN nations that are willing to do defending and some allies who have UN nations that they can send to reinforce our troops.
Recruitment:
Recently International Nations had been experiencing a drop in nations, from the 60’s to the 30’s. This was worrying as the regional population has not been so low for months. However, Kazzerland took on the job as the new Head of Recruitment and brought the population back up to the 50’s. Currently the regional population is at 45. Below is an interview:

Kazzerland: I'd like to say that I was honored to be appointed by Debro for this position. Our recruiting has been going downhill and I'm glad to be able to do something about it.
ML: Do you have any recruiting goals?
K: I hope to bring up our population higher than it's ever reached in it's history.
ML: What would be the desirable - or optimal - population of the region?
K: I'd say that something or one hundred would be desirable. I don't want it to go much higher than that because it would lose it's whole, "everyone knows everyone" atmosphere.
ML: Do you think your recruiting campaign was successful?
K: It has not been fully implemented yet, but I did initially rise our numbers from the 40's to the 50's. I plan to fully implement it once we've refounded and everything's running smooth again.
ML: Why do you think recruiting is important?
K: Remember that old saying? "Strength in numbers." The quote says it all.
ML: Lastly, would you like to say anything else?

RPG:
RPG has drastically changed since the last Monthly Leftist. Several members generally withdrew from the Regional RPG section, although it remains popular with Kardas, Primus Orios and Kaleckton. It is also popular with the newer members like Kazzerland, Cacinecro, Ironwolves and Owtopia.
As for nations themselves, there have been several changes of government. The Confederacy of Independant Warlords has just had their first civil war, and reform to a more democratic system with social-democratic policies is underway. Kazzerland, once a warlike dictatorship is also changing into a Federal Republic. Unlike the Kardas of the CIW, Kazzerland has changed his nation’s title. Primus Orios has also changed from capitalism to communism and allows the country a little bit of capitalism.
In the New World things have also changed as Owtopia and (after a long time) the CIW have made colonies there (the CIW’s colony is named United Warlords). Activity on the New World board is relatively low, however, there are some who believe this will change.
An issue which caused some debate was the inclusion of puppet nations on the regional map. Current poll results are: 4 for and 3 against. members Kardas provided arguments for puppets, Deutschgarten took a stance against the issue while Debro’s stance was neutral. There are currently 2 puppets (Kardas’ and Kazzerland’s) on the map while Primus Orios requested for puppet spots as well. A puppet nation may have only 2 spots instead of the regular 5.
Also important is the creation of the United Republic. Originally ‘the Triangle Alliance’ between the CIW, Primus Orios and Kaleckton, it has now grown to be the dominant RPG alliance in International Nations as the Independent League, USMA, USEA disbanded, the UP and NA inactive, and Kazzerland cancelled the idea for the Socialist Trade And Defense Alliance (STADA). The United Republic has Kaleckton, Primus Orios and the CIW as its founders while Ironwolves and Kazzerland, Owtopia and Casinecro are members.
Currently the UR has done several things: with Archaix’s approval, the UR members (although Kardas just came back from a break) took a police action against the nation (as it was in anarchy). Currently the UR administers the nation. Also important was the full-scale invasion of Teivostan, after the ex-UR member’s treachery was revealed. An invasion of Teivostan’s colony has also taken place. Both nations are administered by the UR.
With Kaleckton leaving the region, a short poll was conducted on who will be the new RPG Chief. Candidates were Primus Orios and Kazzerland with Kazzerland winning in the end with a vote of 6 for Kazzerland and 3 for Primus Orios. Primus has not been active since then.
There was also some commotion in concerning the Regional Map, due to ex-member fascistleaders saying that he “demanded” spots on the map. Ironwolves found his choice of words weird while Primus said there’s no cause for concern with that. The only humorous part in the incident is as follows:
Kardas: Sorta reminds me of WarCraft III though- "We demand additional gold" "We demand additional lumber" (Undead civ)

The International Nations article at NSWiki is still updated periodically, although it is appreciated that you add whatever is necessary to make our region look good. Thank you.
Inactivity:
In recent days, real life has seemed to take a big effect with many active members either leaving or not being active. For others however, real life is demanding at the moment. Nevertheless, the problem remains- International Nations is slipping into inactivity, despite all of its accomplishments.
Foreign Relations:
A major event was the death of the Grand Sector of Armys. For the rest, foreign relations seem very quiet. International Nations appreciates any regions wishing an alliance with the region, although Debro's move to end some existing ties with inactive allies indicates a more isolationist trend.
In addition to these developments, the Communist Socialist Alliance, a close ally of International Nations, has uncovered a 'spy ring' initiated by the premier communist region, Nationstates Communist Party (NCSP). Former presidential candidate Leon Trotsky has been alleged to have been a spy for the allied region after the intelligence service deduced that an information leak about the planned invasion of the CC may have originated in the CSA -so far no official charges were raised by the NCSP, although CSA members such as Straski and Spartacus have expressed their anger at the NCSP's actions. Ambassador J. Castro has defended his region's actions, but has also come under intense fire.
Culture:
Culture flourished with Archaix’s widely acclaimed SPACE MICE, a comedy featuring Pirates, Vikings, Monks, Ninjas, Other Cool Shit, Europol (like Interpol but for Europe), and of course SPACE MICE. It is the most read completed story since Penguin Ninjas, a collaboration between Archaix, Debro, Kardas and other forum members. Many are hoping for a sequel. Archaix himself said he will write another story in the future, but denied plans for a sequel.

Owtopia has also started a story called The Rock, about a person in Owtopia. It seems to be similar Kazzerland’s unfinished Rebel.
Kazzerland also recently started THE EPIC ROUND ROBIN #1, a story where people continuously add a maximum of 4 sentences.
Lethargy over COIN:
Although Kardas’ and Numnar’s arrival in COIN temporarily made the board a bit active, it currently is not very active. The biggest event was Debro’s decision to suspend Teivostan’s membership over his charges- the correct decision, as in the end, Teivostan was found guilty.
The NCA seems to be as inactive as COIN.
