Teivostan increases funding in a space program

The people of The United Socialist States of Teivostan have become interested and curious of space and the mysteries of the universe. Because of this curiosity the state has decided to greatly increase funding in space technology, their goal is to build a large, state of the art space station. This space station will be a place of research, a place where sattelites and probes will be launched and where larger space ships will be built for exploration. This space station will be armed for defence and will cost 100 billion U.S.S.T. Credits (our currency). Because of the already plentiful launch pads throughout Teivostan and the large increase in cosmonauts and scientists the space station is expected to reach completion in 12 months.
Shown below is a picture of the space station in it's completed form.

Our nation will consider sharing technology with other nations in the same alliance, we are currently a member of The United Republic.

The people of Teivostan celebrate as our nation sends it's first 5 rockets, packed full of materials, into space placing the foundries of our new space station. It will be built from the centre out. This station will be so large, people will be able to see it at night with the naked eye.
