The Kingdom of Sad Ni Kuk is made of exiles from a mother country, Chal Soo Kuk, which deposed King Jun Park, our illustrious leader. The exiles were saddened to leave their former home, a place of glorious history. However, upon settling in their new land, residents discovered that this place, too, had remains of significant ancient (and newer) civilizations. A group of concerned residents, upon seeing commercial development encroaching upon cemeteries and other historic sites, approached regional leaders in an attempt to save the sites.
As per recent UN Resolution #216, regarding the protection of historic sites, TWWK, spokesman and International Nations ambassador for the Kingdom of Sad Ni Kuk, has been given permission by King Jun Park to begin a historical marker program. This program will be offered to all nations in the region, establishing the Official International Nations Historical Marker Program.
Here are the basic guidelines and procedures:
Qualifications
I. All applications must be for subjects at least 50 years old. Anything younger than that must be of extreme historic significance (decided upon by TWWK) to be considered for a marker.
II. Cemeteries, places of worship, communities, events, individuals, institutions, sites and structures can all be considered for a historical marker.
III. The following must be submitted for consideration:
A. A brief history (15-30 sentences) about the subject, denoting context, history and significance.
B. Rough location within nation (ex. NW corner within nation or Eastern part of island)
IV. The Kingdom of Sad Ni Kuk will pay for all markers, though this could change in the future.
The Marker
I. The markers are 28 inches tall and 18 inches wide. They are made of aluminum and are similar to Official Texas Historical Markers (flickr.com/photos/texashistoricalmarkers/424280653/in/set-72157594522893078/.)
II. Once the history is submitted, TWWK will write the marker. Expect a turnaround of approximately one week.
III. Final wording is entirely up to TWWK.
IV. The marker is property of the Kingdom of Sad Ni Kuk, and as such, cannot be removed without written permission.
V. The first markers will be similar to the above Texas Historical Markers, with the insignia, however, containing the name International Nations and showing a map of the region. Suggested changes are welcome.
Additional Guidelines
I. Additional guidelines are available, for those interested, by PM to TWWK.
II. TWWK can change procedures and guidelines at any time for any reason.
I will send a follow-up post giving an example of a submitted narrative history, although I will not be the first to submit a marker for proposal. That means that anyone who wants can be the first to apply for an International Nations Official Historical Marker!
