Hello! I am Tsruhkwah, the President of New Sorvun, and I will be the ambassador to your region for the forseeable future. I've been reading the topic you had about merging with our region, and I hope that you all realise that the proposal was made with the best possible intentions. Although we don't communicate as much as we used to, the old members of New Sorvun still hold this region in high regard. So I'll pop by every now and then to post an update of our regional happenings. You get three this first time because it's a bit back-dated.

New Sorvun Regional Update (28th October)
Greetings friends and allies of New Sorvun.
Quite a bit to talk about in the first of our, hopefully, regular new monthly updates, so let’s get started.
The large October election season is now over, and we have a new President, Prime Minister and Senate.
Presidential Elections
The Presidential election was not the biggest of contests, with the Socialist candidate Thandryn only putting himself forward to ensure that there wasn’t just one name on the ballot.
Tsruhkwah (Progressive Nationalist Party) 12 Thandryn (New Sorvun Socialist Party) 1
Prime Ministerial Elections
This was a much more hotly disputed affair, with three candidates all fighting for the position.
Karputsk (Democratic Reform Party) 7 Aiuria (New Sorvun Democratic Party) 5 Renewed Life (Independent) 1
The election was very close right to the finish but Karputsk, and the newly formed DRP, narrowly beat incumbent PM Aiuria to the post.
Senate Elections
This election saw quite a few New Sorvun political heavyweights deciding to use the contest to stage their return to regional affairs. Four seats were up for grabs.
Thandryn (New Sorvun Socialist Party) 11 Kenfeia (New Sorvun Socialist Party) 10 Sopo (Progressive Nationalist Party) 9 Narbonia (Democratic Reform Party) 7 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Arhtewinion (New Sorvun Reconstructionist Party) 4 Sue (Progressive Nationalist Party) 3
Other news
New Sorvun FRA Regional Assembly member Sopo announced his decision to resign from the position, following a conflict of interests. The process to find his successor has already started. The debate on the future of New Sorvun’s constitution seems to remain unresolved, with neither side having struck a decisive blow. On one hand reformists, led by new PM Karputsk, wish to see a totally new, stream-lined constitution implemented, whilst others, led by former PM Likako, think the current constitution should be retained.

New Sorvun Regional Update (November 18th)
Greetings to all our friends and allies,
It’s been quite a sad few weeks since the last update, with an almost total collapse in the small amount of activity that had been generated by elections.
FRA Regional Assembly Elections
With the sudden resignation of Sopo last month, an election was called to replace him as New Sorvun’s representative at the FRA Regional Assembly. There were three candidates for voters to choose from, but in the end they went with the most experienced.
Likako (Progressive Nationalist Party) 6 Sue (Independent) 1 Arhtewinion (New Sorvun Reconstructionist Party) 1
Senate Elections
Despite having elections only a few weeks ago three of the four newly elected Senators have resigned already, forcing new elections for their seats. Senators Narbonia and Thandryn stated lack of time as their reason, and Senator Sopo said he felt unwelcome as a raider in a defending region.
So far there are four candidates for the three seats, with the elections set for the 27th November.
Balans (New Sorvun Socialist Party) Sam_acw (Progressive Nationalist Party) Arhtewinion (New Sorvun Reconstructionist Party) Sue (Progressive Nationalist Party)
Government inactivity
With the resignation of Thandryn from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Parliamentary rejection of Narbonia’s appointment as Culture Secretary, Prime Minister Karputsk has found himself in the midst of a crisis with all government functions, including recruitment, grinding to a halt.
Other news
New Sorvun’s normally friendly relations with Equinox were strained when New Sorvun’s new ambassador to the region was rejected by King Falconias on the basis of regional security fears. Despite Equinox’s objections President Tsruhkwah refused to send a different ambassador, and the issue was only resolved when the courts in Equinox ruled that Falconias had over-stepped his powers when refusing the ambassador.

New Sorvun Regional Update (December 4th)
Hello once again to all those of you kind enough to offer New Sorvun its own space in your region.
It’s been quite a tough few weeks since the mass-resignations mentioned in the last update, however there have been a couple of events worthy of note which have generated some activity.
Senate Elections
Following the resignations of Senators Thandryn, Sopo and Narbonia early last month, the Senate has been crippled, with no legislation able to be passed. To fill the three seats they vacated we had six candidates, four of which are fairly new to the region and its political happenings.
Balans (New Sorvun Socialist Party) 8 Epernicus (Progressive Nationalist Party) 8 Samek (Progressive Nationalist Party) 7 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Liberela (New Sorvun Socialist Party) 5 Sue (Progressive Nationalist Party) 3 Arhtewinion (New Sorvun Reconstructionist Party) 2
The three new Senators have now joined Senator Kenfeia in the Senate, and nominations for Senate Proctor are on-going.
Thandryn Trial
Not long after the sudden departure of New Sorvun Senator and Minister of Internal Affairs Thandryn, Chief Justice Likako announced he was to be banned from the forum and region due to evidence showing that he had been working for enemy raiding regions whilst also a New Sorvun citizen. After some protests that this ruling was unconstitutional it was decided that a trial would take place in order to allow Thandryn the chance to defend himself.
Other News
Following a request from Pope Peter I, the Leone Catholic Church has become the first religious organisation to set up an outpost in the region. Currently also applying for a similar arrangement is the Inter-Regional Modern Christian Assembly, another organisation based in Leone.
