TWWK, can you ask a question before everybody forget the thread?

I can also if you want. It'd be the first thing I post in this thread (except this post)

Kardas is back! With the best avatar imaginable!
And I believe Debro's answer is correct.

Well, why not. Looks like TWWK forgot to ask...and looks like the 3 days expired... Dangit...that's what happens when you do a thread toward the end of the week and have a tendency of not going on the Internet on weekends.

Kardas is back! With the best avatar imaginable! And I believe Debro's answer is correct. Debro's right. And thanks on my new avatar. For those who don't know who it is, it's the Gaulish chief Vitalstatistix, from the Asterix series

I always wondered whether the names are different in various languages. I can't see some of them working in, say, Portugese.

I always wondered whether the names are different in various languages. I can't see some of them working in, say, Portugese. You're right Archaix. For example, in Dutch (and French too apparently) he's called Abraracourix As for the quiz question, I have no idea

Hm. Hint: he was an ace in WWII. But not a flying ace...

A submarine ace?
@ Kardas: I just looked on Wikipedia, and there's a table that tells you all the different names. Apparently there's two sets of names in America.

crazy. Michael Wittman sounds like a VERY common American name.

Really? So, i guess i should reveal the answer: He was a commander of a Tiger squad, killing around 130 enemy tanks with his own tank. His squadron was famous and feared(every tank in his squad had around 40-50 kills). Wittman disappeared in Normandy. The USAAF, the RAF, a royal infantry and a tank regiment claimed the victory, but still, nobody knows what happened.
An easier: What was the name of the airplane, which dropped the A-Bomb on Hiroshima?

I'm not sure on the spelling, but I think it was Enola Gay, named after the pilot's mother. Apparently the guy who 'owned' the plane -who wasn't doing the mission- was pissed off about it.

On a side note: I was once watching some stupid quiz show that attracts morons (there was nothing else to do). The questioner asked the contestant, 'which 20th century English novelist shares his name with a 20th century British Prime Minister?' Obviously, the answer is Eric Arthur Blair (George Orwell). They answered...Churchill. At least if you don't know the answer, go for somebody interesting, like Walpole, or Pitt, or something.
Ok, my question is: what is the Spanish term for the process of recapturing Iberia, which originally started as a crusade against the Moors?
